When your address changes remember to notify the District Office, your insurance carriers and your retirement system. Forms are available to update the retirement system from the District Office. AFFORDABLE CARE ACT
A provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires employers to provide employees with information regarding the Health Insurance Exchanges. The Exchange, which is now referred to as the Health Insurance Marketplace will provide health insurance coverage effective January 2014.

NYS Deferred Compensation - 457
OCS participates in the NYS Deferred Compensation Plan, commonly known as a 457 Plan. Enrollment packets are available in the District Office. Visit their website for additional information www.nysdcpcom.
The OCS Plan number is: 212281
On the enrollment form you will be asked for the state agency code - in that spot put "not a state agency". If you leave it blank, the form will be returned. The enrollment form can be mailed directly to the address on the form. Once your account is set up, they will notify the District to begin taking deductions.
403(b) TSA UNIVERSAL AVAILABILITY NOTICE
School employees have the opportunity to save for retirement by participating in the Onondaga Central School District's 403(b) plan. A Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA) is an investment account that is set aside for your retirement (only), and is paid for with "pre-tax" dollars through payroll. The following pharmacies are the only pharmacies in our service area that BC/BS considers eligible for the pharmacist administered flu, pneumonia and shingles vaccines coverage. Also, benefits will be provided for the shingles vaccine for members age 60 and older.

Participating primary care physicians are also medical providers for covered vaccines.
BE SURE YOUR BENEFICIARY INFORMATION IS UP-TO-DATE WITH THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM
Your beneficiary may be entitled to a death benefit if you die before you retire and you are in active service. Your contributions may also be payable to your beneficiary. Be sure your beneficiary information is up-to-date, and your family or beneficiary knows to contact the Retirement System.
Also, make sure your correct address is on file with the retirement system.
