The Library Collection

The Rockwell Library holds over 5,000 books.  The library also subscribes to a number of magazines. Library materials are chosen to support the Rockwell curriculum, support literacy education, and to serve the interests of its students.  To look at what is available, search the Rockwell Library online catalog.

Databases

There are many resources available to the students of Rockwell Elementary School.
Databases are available to use at school or from home.  Note: Some of the databases are password protected.  Please ask in the library for passwords and/or other information.

Access to the Library

All Rockwell students have weekly library time.  Pre K library time is 30 minutes long. Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade have library time for 40 minutes.
Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade students will also be broken into small groups for Maker Time.  Maker Time groups meet once a week and last for 2 months. During this time students will have lessons where they build, explore, play, and problem solve.

Borrowing Books

Kindergarten and first graders are allowed to take out one book at a time.
Second graders are allowed to take out two books at a time.
They may get another book when they return the one(s) they have.
