Emergency Closings/Snow Days & Delays

Winter weather is here and the Onondaga Central School District would like to provide some information to our families and community members.

We will NOT be conducting in-person OR remote teaching and learning on emergency closing/snow days.  If we delay school because of poor weather/road conditions, we will follow a one-hour or two-hour delay schedule.  Looking ahead in the event we exceed the number of allotted emergency closing/snow days, we will follow the take back schedule on the back of the Board of Education approved school calendar
When Onondaga Central Schools are closed for an emergency closing such as a snow day, all scheduled activities, events, meetings, and programs will also be canceled, unless otherwise stated for extenuating circumstances.  In addition, the school closing information applies to all students who are receiving transportation on our district buses, including students attending private and parochial schools, BOCES, and all others.
When school is delayed, closed or an early dismissal occurs due to weather conditions or other emergencies, a text alert will be sent out via the School Messenger system, the information will be posted on our district website, and announcements will be made over local television stations and radio stations.

If you are not signed up for text alerts on School Messenger, you can find school emergency announcements on one of the following television stations:  WSYR-Channel 9, Spectrum News 10, WTVH-Channel 5, or WSTM-Channel 3.  Additionally, some websites to check are;;;
